British Championship Success
This year four of our young skaters qualified for the British Figure Skating Championships which took place in Sheffield. .
On the Sunday, Lana Bagen, Gemma Fergusson and Sarah Wilkie were competing at the Under 15 event Novice Ladies. The girls all skated their short programs with Gemma and Sarah skating well under the pressure of their first British. Lana put in an excellent performance and placed second after the short program.
The next day the girls all skated with Lana finishing 2nd in the free and 2nd overall. Lana was also presented with the Scottish Novice title for the highest Scottish skater in the competition.
Taylor Ronald competed in the Under 19 event Junior Ladies, she skated well in her short program and placed 5th . Taylor then skated her free program and skated a good clean program and pulled up to 2nd and 2nd over all for the competition, scoring her personal best score for the year. Taylor was also presented with the Scottish Junior title for the highest Scottish skater in the competition.
A fantastic achievement for Leanne and the Club. Two silver medals and I am sure Sarah and Gemma will gain a lot from the experience. Well done to you all!
